Not every educational journey follows a straight line. At Academia Matura, we support our students on a flexible and efficient path towards International A Levels. Our school adapts to the lives of our students – with a personal approach, a clear structure and one defined goal: access to universities and universities of applied sciences in Switzerland and abroad.
Our educational approach: personal support all the way to university enrolment
At Academia Matura, people come first. We support our students in a holistic way – from the initial consultation and choosing the right subjects to successful enrolment at university.
We combine academic excellence with personal guidance. Students benefit from clarity, structure and individual support, while parents have the reassurance that their child is following a clear and recognised educational path.
International A Levels – flexible, recognised, efficient
International A Levels offer maximum flexibility and a clear advantage over the Swiss Matura.
Instead of studying 13 subjects, our students complete their Matura with six carefully chosen subjects.
This allows for:
- individual subject choices based on future study plans and personal strengths,
- an efficient route to universities and universities of applied sciences in Switzerland and around the world,
- focused learning without unnecessary extra pressure.
International A Levels are recognised worldwide and open up a wide range of academic opportunities.
International A Levels at a glance
International A Levels entitle one to study at universities all over the world including Switzerland. Examinations are held at over 10,000 schools in 166 countries, making IALs the most common university entrance qualification in the world.
Flexible learning thanks to very small classes and one-to-one tuition
Individual timetables do not happen by chance – they are the result of our teaching model, which is based on very small classes or one-to-one tuition.
This structure allows us to tailor each learning plan precisely to a student’s personal goals, previous knowledge and day-to-day life. Whether as an alternative to grammar school, alongside work, alongside competitive sport or as a second-chance route to qualifications, learning at Academia Matura remains flexible and realistically manageable.
For us, flexibility means:
Individual learning models: online or on campus
Our students learn in the way that suits their lives best:
- Online learning for maximum flexibility in time and location
- Lessons at one of our centrally located campuses in Aarau, Basel, Bern, Lucerne, Winterthur and Zurich – personal, calm and focused
- A combination of online and in-person learning
Both learning formats are built around personal support and clear learning goals, and both can be adapted to current needs at any time.
Lessons are complemented by periods of independent study, which students can complete whenever and wherever it suits them. Even during these phases, they are not left on their own: on our learning platform, students can ask questions, exchange ideas with others and work through additional useful materials.
A school that adapts to life
We are convinced that education works best when it adapts to real life.
At Academia Matura, teaching, pace and structure are shaped around the learner – not the other way round. This creates a route to the International A Levels that is achievable, efficient and sustainable.
