Nurturing talent. Securing future opportunities.
Anyone who wants to achieve great things in sport, the arts or music needs focus, time and flexibility. At the same time, many young talents – and their parents – want a stable academic path they can rely on, both during and after an active career.
At Academia Matura, both are possible: dedicated talent development and a recognised route in education.
When passion comes first – and education keeps pace
Training sessions, competitions, rehearsals, performances and international commitments are often difficult to combine with traditional school models.
At Academia Matura, school adapts to the lives of our students – not the other way round.
This makes it possible to combine:
Gianmarco Pradel is a rising talent in motorsport. In the video, he shares how he balances sport and training with his education.
Flexibility through one-to-one lessons and very small classes
Teaching at Academia Matura takes place either in one-to-one lessons or in very small learning groups. This allows timetables to be arranged flexibly and adjusted at short notice, for example around:
- competitions or tournaments
- training camps
- concerts, rehearsals or exhibitions
- travel in Switzerland and abroad
This means learning remains manageable and well planned, even when everyday life is anything but ordinary.
International A Levels – an efficient academic route
With International A Levels, talented teenagers and young adults complete their upper secondary school qualification with just six subjects.
This reduces pressure, creates focus and allows students to align their studies more clearly with future university plans. International A Levels are recognised worldwide and open the door to universities and universities of applied sciences in Switzerland and abroad – whether as a plan B or as a deliberate next step after an active career.
Combined with Swiss Academy
For talented students who enjoy learning in a class setting, a combination of Swiss Academy and Academia Matura may also be a good option in Basel, Winterthur and Zurich.
This makes it possible to combine solid academic foundations, personal stability and talent development in an effective way – with the goal of gaining a recognised school-leaving qualification.
Education as a strong plan B – without slowing down plan A
A career in sport or the arts is exciting and demanding – but it is often limited in time. Academia Matura gives talented young people the security of building strong future prospects alongside their passion.
Many of our students particularly value:
This creates an educational path that lasts – even beyond an active career.
Successful students and alumni
Our alumni are a powerful example of how elite sport, talent development and education can go hand in hand:
- Kimmy Repond, international figure skater
- Gianmarco Pradel, international motorsport talent
- Elena Mühlmann, footballer
They represent many young people who have followed their own individual path at Academia Matura.
Kimmy Repond is one of Switzerland’s most successful figure skaters. In the video, she, her parents, coaches and teachers talk about how Kimmy combines sport and school.
